前作「強襲！サイヤ人」のシステムを継承しつつ、カードバトルの戦略性をさらに進化させた本作。ナメック星を舞台に、悟空たちのZ戦士と宇宙の帝王フリーザ、そしてその配下であるギニュー特戦隊との壮絶な戦いを描いたストーリーは、今も色褪せることのない感動と興奮を与えてくれます。
このゲームの魅力は、何と言ってもカードの「流派」と「星の数」を駆使したバトルシステムにあります。キャラクターの流派とカードの流派を合わせることで、「複合攻撃」や「複数攻撃」といった強力な技を繰り出すことができ、戦況を有利に進めることができます。どのカードを誰に使うか、どのタイミングで必殺技を放つか、常に最善の一手を考えながら戦う緊張感は、他のRPGでは味わえない面白さです。
また、原作でおなじみのキャラクターたちが多数登場し、それぞれの個性を活かした必殺技を放つのも見どころの一つです。クリリンの「気円斬」やピッコロの「魔貫光殺砲」、そして悟空の「界王拳」や「元気玉」など、ドット絵で描かれたキャラクターたちが繰り出す迫力満点の必殺技演出は、ファミコンとは思えないクオリティです。
今回の動画では、ナメック星に到着したZ戦士たちが、フリーザ軍の猛攻をかいくぐりながらドラゴンボールを集めていくところからスタートします。果たして、Z戦士たちはフリーザの野望を阻止し、ナメック星に平和を取り戻すことができるのか？そして、悟空は伝説の超サイヤ人へと覚醒することができるのか！？
